A potentialreconfiguration of gas market areas was under discussion between the Northwest Europeancountries (The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France).

Emerton was appointed by a European gas playerto assess the impacts of such a potential merger.

Outcome

Definitionof the position of the gas player regarding the potential gas markets’ mergersin discussion.

Provision of a clear and robust argumentation line that might be used to back theplayer’s position.

Step 1: Analysis of the gas supply scenarios in NWEand the resulting gas flows between the countries

- Analysis of the gas supply scenariosin NWE (Russian gas, Norwegian gas, LNG, etc.)
